Schwinn Tricycles for Kids

The Schwinn Bicycle Company was founded by German born mechanical engineer Ignaz Schwinn in Chicago in 1895. It became the overriding manufacturer of American bikes throughout the bulk of the twentieth century. The company founder Ignaz Schwinn emigrated to America in 1891, where he started the Schwinn Bicycle Company. He was very lucky because bicycles were very popular at the time and his company soon became a top manufacturer. By the mid 1900's Schwinn was the top bicycle manufacturer in the country. Virtually every child within that time had ridden a Schwinn bike or tricycle at one time or another.

Nowadays Schwinn does not have the popularity they had, yet they again are starting to produce a wonderful product. Many great businesses go through times of decline and progress but the mature ones which have great customs always bounce straight back. Such could be the case with the Schwinn company. Their brand acceptance virtually always carries them through the tough times.

Schwinn is back making wonderful bicycles and tricycles for kids. I really like the quality of the Schwinn Tricycle. You can see them at this Schwinn Tricycle site!

Original Big Wheel Tricycle for Kids

The Big Wheel Tricycle was the first successful modern tricycle. It came out in the 1970's and even though the tricycle distributed today is not produced by the same manufacturer, the tricycle is a close reproduction of the original. The Big Wheel revolutionized the layout of tricycles for youngsters, being that it had an extremely big front wheel, which was solid so there have been no spokes for your own child to catch his little feet in. The Big Wheel trike was constructed very low-to the earth. The classic trike design is prone to tip over and poses substantially greater risk to little children. The Big Wheel tricycle also was tremendous fun because children quickly learned the trike could move pretty rapidly and would easily spin. Back in the day-it was really awesome viewing toddlers roaring around the house on these trikes
.

The first Big Wheel Tricycle was designed by the Louis Marx Firm, located in Erie, Pennsylvania and came out with their first trikes for kids in 1969. It was an immediate success. The consumer groups of the day adored it and stated that it was much safer than the models featured by competing brands, this gave the trike a large marketing edge. It really took your breath away when you noticed your kid tearing about with this thing. Children loved it. Now tricycles with features and improved designs which mimic the Original Big Wheel are produced by practically every major brand. Today's models are better built, safer, and more trustworthy than the original but everyone likes to see history repeating, notably in children's playthings, so even though the original Big Wheel tricycles are notably inferior to models created by other manufacturers, they still sell! I won't say whether you should or should not consider this trike, but I do remember my children having lots of fun with them so make up your-own thoughts!  If you would like to have a closer look or purchase an Original Big Wheel Tricycle for Kids just click on the link!

Little Tikes Tricycles for Kids

The Little Tikes Tricycle is a huge player in children riding toys and children tricycles. They got the knowledge since they've been constructing tricycles since 1970. Little Tikes stresses unique creation in every thing they produce, in fact they proudly state they want the reactions to their toys to be "WOW", and they are really succeeding.  Little Tikes is presently owned by MGA Entertainment, a big children toy conglomerate. The Little Tikes tricycle company headquarters and manufacturing facilities are both located in Hudson, Ohio. They're a small reminder about what the United States once did in product creation and Little Tikes is still! I truly like the principals that this company was built on.

In addition, I adore the Murdough operation because he was devoted to keeping careers in the United States. He kept producing in the US, while most other large manufacturers were outsourcing jobs to Asia. He just did it and it resulted in astounding devotion from his workers! The Little Tikes Tricycle is a quality tricycle which provides value and one that needs to be considered seriously.

Throughout the late 1960's, when most American makers were trying to build products solely for profit and quality was nowhere to be located, Murdough started Little Tikes. The large companies were obtaining the  smaller quality manufacturers for his or her brand recognition and then leveraged those quality names by creating junk products and selling at high profits all under many once proud names. Murdough was old school and believed that quality and innovation would win over the quick success. He and nine workers started Little Tikes in 1970 concentrating on their creation on old school values!

During this interval, the large retail chain stores were pushing affordable products and services from brand names as a draw to acquire customers into their stores. Every thing was heavily discounted and the makers were pushed to produce inferior items to match their minute pricing budgets. Murdough recognized that he could not win at that game, so he did not play.

Little Tikes prospered perhaps, by not selling to the big shops. By attempting to sell to smaller shops, he could keep his costs high enough so the quality of his toys didn't suffer. Murdough promoted his toys by by word of mouth from retailers and customers. The money he saved in advertisements went into the Little Tikes business and products and he prospered.

Murdough entered right into a merger with Rubbermaid in 1984 to acquire capital to enlarge. Evidently, by 1989 Murdough was completely discouraged by the demands placed on his company by the bigger company and left. With his departure, Little Tikes went through a span of bad times but have since improved.  Little Tikes riding toys are fast getting back to what exactly was successful under Murdough so you will not be disappointed in the event you buy one of their models of trikes. Have a look at this Little Tikes Tricycle for kids site, you'll find something which you prefer for your own youngster!

Kettler Kids Tricycles

Kettler is a German Company. Kettler is now a large global concern and it features trikes for little tikes. You can feel it when you see the Made in Germany stamp on their products. Kettler really makes their tricycles and parts at home in Germany rather than importing from Asia. Their manufacturing facilities are advanced, efficient and their quality control is top notch. They use only lead free paint so the coatings on their trikes pose no danger to your child.

Kettler's popularity increase was unusual in that they initially didn't advertise. They expanded due to word of mouth recommendations from happy customers and assembly retailers at trade shows. At one time they were highlighted in many specialized stores in Manhattan.

I have found that the pricier the Kettler tricycle models are terrific, long lasting, tricycles. I would be cautious purchasing their cheaper models because it seems that Kettler hasn't figured out the way to make a cheap tricycle for kids. They're a firm that values quality and it appears that their efforts at a cheaper trike only fails. It's almost like they can't do it! So play safe and-go with the better tricycles from Kettler!

Kettler prides itself on making safe, well designed, lasting tricycles for kids which are although pricey, produce real value. They do not cut corners and as you know, you get what you really pay for. So if you are seeking trike that you could pass down from child to child, that is the one I highly recommend these Kettler tricycles for children.

You can find all the great Kettler tricycles for kids at the website in the link! Check them out!

Children's Tricycle from Radio Flyer

The Radio Flyer Organization is a producer of the kids tricycle. The firm goes back in the past to 1917, when Antonio Pasin was building little wooden wagons and marketing them to local shops. He grew, created the business Radio Flyer, so called for both his love of radios and aviation. The company makes the tricycle, wagons, bikes and scooters.

Radio Flyer has constantly made distinguishing, sturdy, children's mobile toys. Their offers are consistently well made, have exquisite styling and superb workmanship. Premium materials are used by them and it pays off in the sturdiness of their merchandise. Their tricycle models are certainly spectacular! This was true a century ago when the company began and continues to be true now.

Radio Flyer is really noted for their classic upright tricycle for kids.  The model is almost the same design and duplicates the quality of the model they sold more than 50 years ago. This famous tricycle is remembered fondly by many parents now shopping for a tricycle for their own children.  That bright red classic upright has always been very popular.

Need a four wheel foot trike for your toddler, want a new 3 in 1 trike design, or maybe you are like the new lights and sounds models? Radio Flyer produces all these models and they are all great products. You can't go wrong with a Radio Flyer tricycle for kids!

The Tricycle for Kids

A kids tricycle is fun!  You should think about the age of your young one when purchasing a tricycle.  Children younger than two demand tricycles with particular options and these are available in abundance.Kid safety is always a primary concern, kids should be supervised. Whenever your child is riding a tricycle a helmet should be worn even when riding indoors. You could also think of knee and elbow pads together with the helmet to supply the best protection for your child.  Again, at no time should a child be left unattended when using any riding toy.

Age of your child is an important factor in purchasing a tricycle. Kids younger than 2 may have trouble balancing a tricycle and pedaling and you don't want your child to fall over. For kids in this age group obtain a tricycle that has a narrow frame that they can climb on easily and make certain the tricycle has a very broad wheel base to raise the stability. The three in one tricycles are great for really young kids. They have removable pedals and a push handle and basically perform as a stroller.  Tricycles for toddlers should be foot driven or moved by the parent. After three, an upright tricycle is fine and for the older child the sports versions actually are very entertaining making spin outs and other maneuvers a snap.

Tricycles were originally made of metal, now plastic has become common. Plastic frames are fine material for tricycles for the young child and you might transition to metal models as they get older. Metal tricycles usually have slick designs which will appeal to the older child.

The main designs available for a kids tricycle for toddlers are the foot driven model and the the three in one. The low profile big wheel types for young kids are quite low to the earth so they will not tip over and are actually safe. The classic upright trike is better for kids over three as these have a high profile and can tip over. The retro trikes are generally of the classic upright design but mimic the tricycles of 1950's and 1960's. The high end manufacturers include Kettler and Razor and Radio Flyer. The Fisher Price tricycle is a terrific learning trike that's ordinarily meant for the younger child, Radio Flyer is a top shelf supplier which covers most current designs and are noted for their classic upright model. Morgan makes brilliant retro trikes that are constructed well and actually capture the imagination. Little Tikes trikes are popular and John Deere makes a few with really exceptional styling and another great brand is the Original Big Wheel Tricycle.

Brands of tricycles abound and each supplies a ton of versions. Check out my online store. I review most brands and versions of tricycles for kids and I am sure that you will find one that is perfect for your child.
